Frances Cameron (Lavoie) Klop, 86, of Deerfield, passed away on June 4, 2021, surrounded by her family.
She was a lifelong resident of New Hampshire, born to William and Reatha (Cameron) Lavoie of Bedford on January 9, 1935. Being born during the depression shaped Fran's lifetime of hard work and unwavering commitment to family and closest friends. She grew up in Bedford with her brother, Bill, and her sisters and lifelong buddies, Millie, Peggy, and Esther.
Fran graduated from Memorial Hospital School of Nursing in 1956, where she made lasting friendships that endure to this day. She went on to become an ICU nurse at the Elliot Hospital in Manchester, a school nurse at McKelvie in Bedford before retiring after twenty years from the NH/VT Chapter of the American Red Cross as the Director of Blood Services.
Fran met her husband, and love of her life, John "Jack" Klop during freshman year at West High school. They married in April of 1957 and together raised five children, Kathy, Donna, Jackie, Karen, and John.
Fran loved her life spent between Bedford and Northwood Lake. Winters were spent skiing at Cannon Mountain or Mt. Sunapee with all five children in tow in the days when ski boots needed to be tied. During their later years, Fran and Jack established a winter home and new roots in Naples, Florida. On Northwood Lake, she enjoyed every minute whether it was waterskiing, sailing, fishing, or sunset boat rides. She was adored by all, always there with a smile and a hug, a homecooked meal, and of course a bit of advice. She loved her visits to the Village of Victoria on Prince Edward Island, which is the original homestead of the Cameron family. Fran was a voracious reader and loved playing golf and lively card games with her friends, sisters, children, and grandchildren.
She is predeceased by her parents William and Reatha Lavoie, husband John "Jack" Klop, mother and father in-law, John and Helen Klop, beloved brother William Lavoie and sister Mildred Casey, and daughter Kathy Bennett who passed away on June 1 of this year.
She is survived by her children, Donna K. Lencki of Candia, Jackie Sweet of Centerville, VA, Karen Logan and her husband Scott of Eliot, ME, and John Klop of Manchester; her sisters, Esther Hadlock of Marco Island, FL and Margaret "Peggy" Farrar of Manchester, her grandchildren Andi and Tyler and their son Wilder, her first great grandchild; Ian, Garrett, Ryan, Cameron, Jonathan, and Haley; along with a countless number of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
To celebrate Fran, an outdoor Memorial Service & Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, June 12th from 1 to 4 PM at Old Fields Farm, 403 New Boston Road, Candia. A private service will follow at sunset on Northwood Lake in Deerfield.
