Frances M. (Murphy) Rice, 65, died May 20, 2001, at her home after a long illness. She was born on May 31, 1935, in Passaic, New Jersey, the daughter of the late Francis and Katherine (LeBelle) Murphy. She graduated from Ardsley New York High School. Mrs. Rice had been a cross country truck driver until an injury in 1980 forced her to give up this career. She then attended New Hampshire College in Manchester and received an associate degree in accounting. Frances was the proprietor of Phantom Productions, an outlet for quillos hand made doll clothes and christmas ornaments. She was an avid crafter, expert seamstress, dog lover and NASCAR fan. Mrs. Rice was last employed by All Pro Productions. She was the widow of Edgar Rice who died in 1997. Family members include her son Barclay Berg of Barrington, NH and his daughter Krystal Berg, her son Gary Berg and daugter-in-law Theresa of Goffstown and their daughters Amanda and Meghan Berg, her son Frederick Berg and his partner Tina Boucher (also caregiver) of Manchester and his son Jesse Rose and their daughters Chantel and Katie Boucher, one daughter Lori Scott of Stamford, Connecticut and her sons, Miles and Justin Scott, six step children, her two sisters Marjorie Genovese of Marco Island, Florida and Marian Lloyd of Nashua, NH and many nieces and nephews and also six step . SERVICES: A calling hour is at the Phaneuf Funeral Homes & Crematorium, 243 Hanover Street, Wednesday morning from 9 to 10 with the service immediately following in our funeral home chapel at 10 o'clock. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery, Nashua, NH. Donations may be made to the Visiting Nurse, Home Hospice, 1850 Elm Street, Manchester, NH 03104.
