Frances E. Saltmarsh

Frances was born in Concord, NH to Ernest Ford and Clintie Ford (Call) joining her sister, Dorothy, and brothers, Walter and James, she grew up in Chichester, NH and Northfield, NH and graduated from Tilton Northfield High School. Frances married Hazen Saltmarsh in 1948 and soon after they moved to the Seacoast Area of NH, later settling in Eliot, Maine where she lived for 60 years.

Frances worked as a legal secretary in Concord and the Seacoast Area of NH and Maine for many years and after retiring she taught English as a second language for several years as a volunteer.

Frances was predeceased by her parents, sister, and brothers, and more recently by her husband in 1988. She is survived by her daughter, Joanna Chase and her husband Dana, her granddaughter, Emily Lemoine and her husband Gary, her niece, Laurel Ford, several grandnieces, grandnephews and cousins.

SERVICES: Per Frances' wishes there will be no calling hours. A Graveside Gathering of family and friends will be held at Evans Cemetery in Bow, NH on Friday, May 19, 2023 at 1pm.
