Frances Louise Thayer, 82, of Dover, NH, passed away at Riverside Rest Home on August 16, 2023. Born in Saginaw, MI on April 12, 1941, she was the daughter of the late David and Frances (Meloon) Gilchrist. She was predeceased by her husband, Gordon B. Thayer Jr., in 2004.

Frances spent her early years in Michigan and later relocated to Dover, NH, where she and Gordon raised their family. A loving mother, she gave up everything for her family; she loved to volunteer at school when her children were younger and always made sure they had everything they needed. As her children grew older, Frances pursued education in nursing and worked as a Licensed Practical Nurse at Langdon Place. After retirement, she enjoyed her time spent living in Ocala, FL.

Frances is survived by her son, David Thayer and his wife Patricia of Dover, NH; her daughter, Dawn Goodman and her husband John of Summerfield, FL; her brother, Roderick Gilchrist and his wife Pat of Texas; her grandchildren, Nicholas Wolford and his wife Melissa of Maine, Derek Wolford and his wife Sarah of Dover, NH, Nicole Thayer of Massachusetts, Timothy Mcquillen and his wife Sarah of Oak Harbor, WA, Tyler Adams and his wife Melissa of Summerfield, FL, and Jesse Adams and his wife Sarenah of Ocala, FL; her great-grandchildren, Samuel, Logan, Axel, Cyrus, Gavin and Runa; as well as several nieces, nephews and extended family members. In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by two daughters, Dana Wolford and Deann Thayer, as well as her brother, James Gilchrist.

She will be laid to rest with her husband at Highland Memorial Park in Ocala, FL. Services will be private.
