Francis Joseph "Jay" Boivin, 89 of Manchester, passed away after a brief illness on May 1st at the Laurel Center in Bedford. He was born on August 21, 1924 son of the late Albert W. & Mary (Daley) Boivin.
Jay served in the US Navy during WWII. He was a radio personality throughout New England for various radio stations. He also volunteered at the VA Hospital in Manchester with over 16,000 hours of volunteering. Throughout his adult life he spent winters in Florida and his summers in Manchester. He was an avid walker and enjoyed music and the theater.
Jay is survived by his sister, Connie Savage of Manchester and his niece Judy Raduazzo of Litchfield, and many grand-nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brother Albert "Pete" Boivin formerly of Louisiana and his niece Betty McNall formerly of North Conway.
SERVICES: A visitation will be held in the Phaneuf Funeral Home, 243 Hanover St. (corner of Union St.) Manchester on Friday, June 6th from 12:00 to 1:00 PM. A prayer service will follow in the funeral home chapel at 1:00PM. Interment to follow with US Navy Military Honors in Pine Grove Cemetery
