Dr. Frances N. Kheriaty, 73, of Manchester, died June 18, 2005 in Bedford, after a valiant battle with cancer. Dr. Kheriaty was born in Manchester on November 30, 1931. He was the son of Diab and Zahia Kheriaty. He graduated from Manchester private schools, St. Anselms College in 1953 and Loyola Chicago College of Dental Surgery in 1957. He went on to post doctoral studies in prosthetics at Tufts Dental School in Boston, Massachusetts. He started private practice in Manchester, New Hampshire in 1957 and performed dental surgery at Catholic Medical Center. He was a Captain in the United States Army and served active duty during the Berlin Crisis. After retiring he became involved with Doctors Without Borders and did dentistry and dental surgery in North and South America and Central America, Indonesia and the Middle East. Family members include his brother, Louis Kheriaty of Seattle, Washington and several nephews, nieces and cousins. IN HIS LIFE: He was an accomplished and gifted speaker; a wonderful cook and generally both educated and erudite. He loved to cook for his family and friends, especially Lebanese and Middle Eastern dishes. When he entertained his family and friends, he was a gifted conversationalist and a generous host and friend. As a doctor he was compassionate and loved his profession. During his tenure with Doctors Without Borders, he was proud of both the conventional and challenging case that he engaged in to help people who otherwise would be without medical care. A private funeral service will be held at Phaneuf Funeral Homes and Crematorium. Burial will take place in St. Joseph Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of ones choice.
