Francis R. Martel

Francis R. Martel, 86, of Manchester, NH died on Monday, January 1, 2024 at his residence in Manchester, NH with his family by his side.

Mr. Martel was born on March 10, 1937, in Goffstown, NH, the son of the late Oswald and Isabelle (LaDuke) Martel.

He was a veteran and served in the United States Marine Corps.

Prior to his retirement, Mr. Martel was employed as a mechanic for many years and worked for Ryder Truck Rental and Leasing.    

When his children were younger, he was a Cub Scout and Boy Scout Leader. After his retirement he loved to tinker around his home and his partner’s home.

Members of his family include; two daughters, Karen Martel-Card and her husband, Ronald Sr., Marcelle Coulon and her husband, Michael; five sons, Jean, David and his wife, Renee, Armand, Bruce and Kenneth and his wife, Amy (Briggs) Martel, seven grandchildren, eight great grandchildren; one niece, three nephews and his partner, Shirley Noyes. Mr. Martel was predeceased by his wife of 54 years, Lorraine L. (Florand) Martel who passed in January 2016, his sister, Theresa Moriarty who passed away November 2021, his brother, Butch Martel who passed away July 2016 and two nieces.

SERVICES: Calling hours will be held on Monday, January 8, 2024 from 5 – 8 p.m. at Phaneuf Funeral Homes & Crematorium, 243 Hanover Street, in Manchester, NH. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, January 9, 2024, 10 a.m. at St. Pius X, 575 Candia Road, in Manchester. Private interment will be held at a later date.
