Francoise Marie Carmelle Chouinard, 91, passed away peacefully on April 19, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. Born in St. Leon De Standon, Quebec, on March 9, 1934, Francoise held deep roots in her French-Canadian heritage, a connection she cherished throughout her life.
Francoise's career began in education, where she inspired many students during her years as a teacher in Canada. In 1963, she and her husband Hilaire moved to New Hampshire, where they both worked in the Manchester Mills. Francoise eventually transitioned to the role of homemaker and caretaker as she quickly became an integral part of the lives of many families in the area, always putting their needs before her own. Her selflessness, generosity, and nurturing spirit touched the hearts of all who knew her.
In addition to her career, Francoise volunteered at CMC for many years, demonstrating her commitment to serving others. She was known for her warmth and the joy she found in sharing simple pleasures, such as playing card games with friends and family. Sunday night dinners were a treasured tradition, serving as foundational family time where love and laughter thrived.
Francoise was one of twelve children, and her family was everything to her. She was married to Hilaire for approximately thirty years, with whom she raised their only daughter Lucie. She will be dearly missed by her daughter Lucie and her husband George, grandchildren Gregory Chakmakas and his wife Mandy, Alaina Hynes and her husband Christopher, along with her beloved great-grandchildren, siblings, nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.
A memorial gathering in honor of Francoise will take place at Blessed Sacrament Church in Manchester, NH, on May 3, 2025, beginning at 10:00 AM, followed by a Mass at 11:00 AM. She will be buried at the St. Augustin Cemetery at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Francoise' memory can be made to a charity of your choice.
