FRANK W. PORFIDO, SR.
LITTLETON, NH Frank W. Porfido, Sr, 79, of Lilac Lane, passed away on Wednesday, May 30, 2007, at the Littleton Regional Hospital after a long illness.
Frank was born in Littleton on August 23, 1927, a son to Emilio and Carmela (Potito) Porfido and attended Littleton High School.
Frank married Lorena Tift in 1947 and they had six children. Together they operated the family business, Porfidos Market, on Main Street in Littleton for many years. Frank enjoyed playing poker, horse and dog racing and riding around with his dog and grandchildren. Frank loved real Italian food, always followed by a sweet, high calorie dessert. He was well known for riding around all night and was even referred to as cruiser number three in earlier years. He made many visits to Campbells and Hadlocks barns to feed and watch their horses, and was an overall lover of animals. When his wife, Lorena, became very ill in the early 1960s and again in the early 1990s, Frank made many trips and drove thousands of miles assuring she received the care she needed in Hanover and Boston. Frank was known for simply liking people and was never short on sarcasm either. He had pet names for many, especially his children and had a sarcastic wit and wonderful sense of humor. He left the world a better place for him having been here, he will be missed.
Frank leaves two sons, Emilio Rocky Porfido and his wife Ashlea Miller, Frank Jr. and his wife, Julie Porfido, both of Littleton, NH; four daughters, Permelia Bunni Lindorff of Manchester, NH, Carmela Cami and her husband, Lenny Quail of Littleton, NH, Violet and her husband, Bill Hatch of Gorham, NH, and Lorena Lori F. Porfido of Bodega Bay, CA; eighteen grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. His wife Lorena, a brother, Alphonse Porfido, three sisters, Philomena Porfido, Mary Porfido and Violet Porfido as well as one granddaughter, Tishara Lindorff Sears, predeceased Frank.
