Franklin I. Pappy Harmer Manchester, NH Age 79 of Manchester, died October 30th at his home, following a long illness. He was born September 30, 1926 in Bayonne, NJ the Son of Walter and Lillian (Raucher) Harmer. He was raised and educated in Bayonne. He served his country in the U.S. Army during WWII & the Korean War. He was a longtime member of the American Legion, and belonged to Post #79 while living in Manchester. A resident of Manchester for the past 4 years, he had been a long time resident of Wayne, NJ. He retired from the Central Railroad of New Jersey in 1982, after 35 years of service as a diesel mechanic. He loved to tinker with automobiles, enjoyed a challenging jigsaw puzzle and was always fascinated with model railroad trains. He is survived by 2 Daughters; D. Lynn Lavigne and her husband Lawrence Larry of Manchester and Dale V. Hunt and her husband Donald of Wayne, NJ. Brother Buddy Harmer of NJ. Sister Dolores Lowery of Edison, NJ. 5 Grandchildren, 8 Great-Grandchildren and several nieces and nephews also survive him. He was pre-deceased by his wife Dorothy A. (Slaight) Harmer.
