Fred J. Kokoszka, 78, of 323 Franklin Street, died July 29, 2007 at Catholic Medical Center. He was born in Manchester on April 15, 1929, the son of Michael and Anna (Garnowska) Kokoszka and had been a lifelong resident of the city. He served in the United State Army and later served in the Air Force during the Korean War where he was stationed in Japan. He worked for Waumbec Mills for many years and has also been employed by NEKA Beauty Salon in shipping and receiving. He was a member of the American Legion Jutras Post and the Canadian Club. He loved spending time with his family. He was predeceased by his wife, Joyce (Dow) Kokoszka who died in 2001. Family members include two sons, Jon Kokoszka of Medway, MA and Kevin Kokoszka of Hooksett; three grandchildren; a sister, Helen Bable of Manchester; one nephew, one niece and several cousins. A memorial gathering will take place at Phaneuf Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 243 Hanover Street on Sunday August 12 from 12 to 2 PM. Inurnment will be in the New Hampshire State Veterans Cemetery columbarium. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Carpenter Center, 323 Franklin Street, Manchester, NH 03101.
