Frederick Sherman Parker

Frederick Sherman Parker, 76, passed away on Wednesday, October 28, 2015 in Keene, NH. He was born in Proctor, Vermont on February 7, 1939.

Mr. Parker served his country in the United States Army serving in the 172nd Armor Division. He relocated to Keene, New Hampshire in 1968. He worked as an insurance salesman for John Hancock Financial Services for many years. Fred was also very active in the Masons and Shriners Organizations for most of his life. He served two terms on the Board of Governors of the Shriners Hospital in Springfield, MA and he was Past Master of St. Paul's Lodge and Past Grand Exalted Ruler and Treasurer of Beaver Brook Lodge #36 in Keene, NH. He was a lifetime member of the Keene Elks Lodge #927 and a 50-year member of the Shriners. Fred served as the Cheshire County Treasurer from 2010 to 2012 and was a member of Grace Methodist Church in Keene. Fred's family will fondly remember how he loved baseball; he was a devoted Red Sox and Philadelphia Eagles Fan.

He was predeceased by his parents, Rena and Sherman Parker and a brother, Richard Parker, all lifelong Pittsford, Vermont residents.

He is survived by a nephew, Jeffrey Parker of Claremont, NH; two nieces, Michelle Howard and her husband Keith of Oviedo, FL, and Jennifer Collins and her husband Craig of Winter Springs, FL; as well as many great nieces and nephews.

A Memorial Service will be celebrated on Monday, November 2, 2015 at 2:00 PM at the Pittsford Congregational Church, Pittsford, VT. Memorial contributions may be made to: The Grace Methodist Church, 17 Greenbriar Road, Keene, NH 03431.
