FREDERICK R. WENTZELL MANCHESTER –Frederick R. Wentzell, 71, died Sunday, December 28, 2008, at the Hospice House, in Concord. He was born on December 31, 1936, in Peabody, Massachusetts, the son of the late Ralph F. and Flora M. (Migneault) Wentzell. Mr. Wentzell was employed at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, where he was a groundskeeper. He was a veteran, having served in the United States Army. Family members include; his 2 sisters, Ann Harring, of Manchester; Alma Ploof, of Tewksbury, MA; nieces, Nicole Lemire, of Belmont, NH; Kim Mahady, of Haverhill, MA; Lynne Ploof, of Amesbury, MA; Tricia Gurr, of Queiderrsbach, Germany; Ellie Wooldridge, of Londonderry, NH; Ron Ploof, of Aliso Viejo, CA; Don Ploof, of Groton, MA; Dan Ploof, of Georgetown, MA, great nieces, Stephanie Ploof, of Aliso Viejo, CA; great nephews, Bryan Ploof, of Aliso Viejo, CA; and Tanner Ploof, of Amesbury. Calling hours will be Wednesday, December 31, from 2 – 4 PM and 7 – 9 PM at the Phaneuf Funeral Home, 243 Hanover Street, corner of Union Street, in Manchester. A funeral service will be held on Friday, January 2, in the funeral home chapel at 10 AM. Committal prayers and burial will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery, in Manchester. It has been suggested that those who wish may make memorial gifts to The Boy Scouts of America, Troop 73, at South Church, 41 Central Street, Andover, MA 01810 or to The American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals, (ASPCA), 424 E. 92nd Street, New York, NY 10128-6804, in memory of Mr. Wentzell.
