Gabrielle R. Prenoveau

Gabrielle R. (Montpas) Prenoveau, 100, formerly of 62 Bedford Street, died at her residence at 317 Jewitt Street on October 23, 2004. She was born in Manchester on May 31, 1904, the daughter of Thomas and Leonie (Rivard) Montpas and had been a lifelong resident of the City. She had worked at Bee Bee Shoe and was a parishioner of Ste. Marie Church. She belonged to the Smile Center and was a volunteer at the Senior Citizens Store. She loved listening to music, crocheting and cooking. She was predeceased by her husband Joseph Prenoveau who died in 1980 and by a daughter, Annette Demers. Family members include a son, Fernand Prenoveau of Manchester; a daughter, Estelle McGarry of Manchester; nine grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren and 4 great great grandchildren. Calling hours will be at Phaneuf Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 243 Hanover Street on Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday afternoon at 1:00 PM in Sacred Heart Church. Burial will follow in Mt. Calvary Cemetery.
