Gail (McGrath) Bertolini, age 92, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on November 19, 2025, in Concord, New Hampshire. Born on February 21, 1933, in Somerville, Massachusetts, Gail lived a long and full life marked by warmth, intelligence, and a deep appreciation for the people around her.
A graduate of Regis College with a degree in mathematics, Gail was a trailblazer embarking on a career in computer programming in the days of central computers and punch cards, often teaching herself along the way.
Gail nurtured close, lifelong friendships with those as far back as elementary school and college. People were always attracted to her cheery and engaging disposition.
An accomplished knitter, Gail found great joy in her craft. Even when she could no longer knit herself, she continued to attend her weekly knitting group for the companionship of the “knitting ladies.”
Most of all, Gail was proud of her children and grandchildren. She delighted in keeping up with all their activities, accomplishments, and milestones. There were many fun times together in Florida and at the Cape and at all the family gatherings for holidays and special celebrations.
Gail is lovingly remembered by her son Stephen; daughters Laura and Lisa; sons-in-law Mark and Fred; and her grandchildren: Christina and her husband Matt, Caroline, Jessica, Nicholas and his wife Alison, Sam, and Joseph and his wife Brenin. She was predeceased by her brothers Frank and Jim Mc Grath.
May Gail’s memory bring comfort to those who knew and loved her.
