Gail Joanne Robertson, 81, of Manchester died peacefully on Thursday, March 11, 2021, with family in attendance at CMC Hospital following a brief illness. She was born on February 19, 1940 in Detroit, MI the daughter of Ivan and Cora (Temple) Watts. Gail married her high school sweetheart, Gordon on June 6, 1959, in Worcester. She graduated in 1958 from South High School in Worcester, MA.
She and Gordon resided in Leicester, MA where they owned and operated Robertson's Grocery and Luncheonette from 1969-1976. She also had a career in bookkeeping with James M. Dawson's Associates Inc., in Manchester, NH. Gail had a love of music and was an accomplished pianist and teacher. As a Pastor's wife of 30 years, she served as the Choir Director coordinating Christmas and Easter cantatas, handbells, and special music for the Manchester and Harvest Baptist Churches. Gail also had a love for God's Word and enjoyed teaching Bible Studies and was a Christian mentor to women.
Gail was predeceased by her husband of 54 years, Gordon in 2014 and her son, Dennis in 2019. She is survived by her remaining four children, Rev. Ken Robertson and wife Kim of Dunbarton, NH; Paul Robertson and wife Neiva of Chelmsford, MA; Karen Ingle and husband Stephen of Douglasville, GA; and Rev. Jim Robertson and wife Michelle of Pembroke, NH; her sister, Frances Pratt of Manchester; 19 grandchildren; and 3 great-grandchildren.
The family will receive visitors Friday, March 19th from 5:00-8:00pm at Phaneuf Funeral Homes & Crematorium, 243 Hanover Street in Manchester, NH. Due to current restrictions guests are respectfully requested to wear face coverings and social distancing is encouraged. The funeral service will be held on Saturday, March 20th at 2:00pm at Faith Baptist Church, 53 Mammoth Road, Manchester, NH.
