Garifalia "Foula" B. Tsiaras

Garifalia “Foula” Bathras Tsiaras, age 90, passed away peacefully at home on August 12, 2024 surrounded by her loved ones. Garifalia was born on August 1, 1934, to the late James and Gramato (Nicolexis) Bathras. She attended Portland High School, graduating in 1952. She was a beloved member of The Holy Trinity Greek Church in Portland, Maine, where she sang in the chorus and was an active member of The Daughters of Penelope. Garifalia had a passion for hairdressing and practiced in Manchester NH. She later served in the Tax Office in Bedford, NH as a Deputy Tax Collector.

In her younger days, she enjoyed playing tennis, and throughout her life, she was an avid reader and loved crafts, crosswords, and puzzles. Garifalia's family was the center of her world, and she was the heart of every family reunion.

She is survived by her children, Christos Tsiaras of Boxborough, MA, and Adena English of Manchester, NH. She was a proud and loving grandmother to Timothy English and Bethany Tsiaras, who were the light of her life. Garifalia was predeceased by her brothers Efthimios Bathras and Themistocles Bathras.

A memorial service to celebrate Garifalia's life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers you may donate to the Visiting Nurses Association of Manchester and Southern NH.
