Gary R. Barton, 60 of Brattleboro, VT passed away on Monday, September 18, 2017 at Brattleboro Memorial Hospital. He was born in Springfield, MA on June, 3 1957; the son of the late Raymond and Bernice (Vielleux) Barton.
Gary graduated from Brattleboro Union High School. He was employed in construction for Tim Severance Builder. Gary loved hunting, fishing, snowmobiling, and cooking, everyone remembering his tuna macaroni salad. He loved spending time at camp in Irasburg, VT and was a former player and still a huge fan of the Master Batters Softball Team.
He is survived by a son, Ryan McCullock of SC; a brother, Tony Barton of Lakewood, CO; two sisters, Jeannie Quest and her husband Ben of Putney and Elaine Howard and her husband Kevin of Deltona, FL; two nephews, Trevor and Jeff; three nieces, Trisha, Trina and Tracy; his best friend, Darren Loomis and family; and a Goddaughter, Samantha Gundry.
A Celebration of Life along with a cookout will be held on Saturday, September 30, 2017 from 12pm -3pm at the Putney Ball Field, Sand Hill Rd., Putney, VT. Please bring a cold dish. The KER-WESTERLUND FUNERAL HOME is assisting the family with arrangements. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Putney Gun Club, 44 Sand Hill Rd, Putney, VT 05346 or Rescue, Inc., 541 Canal St, Brattleboro, VT 05301.
