SHELTON, CT Gary Alan Newcombe, 54, formerly of Bethlehem, NH, passed away on Friday, November 9, 2007 at the Griffin Hospital in Derby, CT after a brief illness.
Gary was born a son to James W.R. Newcombe, Jr. and Barbara Newcombe Keller on September 5, 1953 in Littleton, NH. He grew up in Bethlehem, graduated in 1971 from White Mountain Regional School. He attended Plymouth State University, graduating in May 1975 with an Associate of Arts degree. Joining the U.S. Army in June of 1975, he entered The Signal Corp servicing a tour of duty in Korea, as well as stateside assignments. After his discharge from the Army, Gary went back to school receiving an Associate of Science degree from the University of the State of New York, then a diploma in 1998 from The New England Technical Institute in Hamden, CT.
Gary worked as an electrical test technician for Allied Signal Aerospace in Stratford, CT for 19 years, prior to the company relocating to Arizona. He studied and became a licensed electrician in Connecticut. Gary was employed at Sikorsky Aircraft at the time of his passing. He enjoyed fishing, motorcycling, and fine dining.
Surviving family members include his sisters, Diana and husband, Robert Ainsworth of Littleton, NH, and Carol and husband, Allen Lang of Oxford, NY; his nieces, Kristie L. Quail, Kathryn Alexander, and Elizabeth Lang; great nephew, Cameron Quail; great nieces, Grace, Lillian, and Madeline Alexander; and his step-father, John Keller of Bethlehem, NH. He was predeceased by his father in 1971 and his mother in 2007.
SERVICES Funeral services will be held at the convenience of the family.
