Gary T. Ouellette, 77, of Hooksett, passed away at Elliot Hospital on December 25, 2024, surrounded in love by his family.
Gary was born in Caribou, ME on January 22, 1947, the son of the late Oliver and Leola (Thibodeau) Ouellette. He attended Colby College and was a United States Army Veteran. In his youth, he was an exemplary athlete, focusing primarily on basketball and baseball and received a college scholarship for his pitching skills. For most of his career, he worked as a marketing and closing representative and retired from Sweeney Title Services in 2019. Gary’s love of golf was enhanced by his position as a starter / ranger for Candia Woods Country Club, where he created a bond and friendship with the staff and members. Gary was an avid Red Sox fan. He enjoyed traveling and playing golf in many locations in the tropics and throughout the country. He loved playing cards, especially cribbage, and visiting casinos. Most of all, he cherished the time he spent with his family.
Family members include his wife of 45 years, Theresa “Terry” (Butler) Ouellette; his son, Jeffrey Ouellette and his wife Kayla of Epping; his daughter, Christine MacLean of Windham; his adopted son, Ron of Merrimack, four grandchildren, Mary, Brielle, Reid, and Jaxson; a brother Ronald Ouellette and his wife Bernadette of Caribou, ME; a Brother in Law, John Butler of Falmouth, MA; a Sister in Law, Denise Wirtz and her husband Tom of Raymond, as well as several aunts, uncles, nephews, nieces and cousins. He also leaves behind his loyal grand dog Tripper. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a brother, Vernon Ouellette, grandson, Ronald (RJ) Ouellette and nephew, Jason Ouellette.
A memorial gathering will take place at Phaneuf Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 243 Hanover St., Manchester on Thursday, January 9, 2025, from 5 to 7 PM with a memorial service to follow at 7 PM. Committal services with military honors will take place at the NH State Veterans Cemetery, Boscawen on Friday, January 10, 2025, at 12:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to Granite State Generosity (https://gsgnh.org/donate/) or to a foundation of your choice.
