GARY EDWARD PETTIT
BETHLEHEM, NH - Gary Edward Pettit, 54, of South Road, left his earthly body to go to a better, happier place in the early morning hours of March 6, 2009.
Gary was born on March 5, 1955, in Somers Point, NJ to Juanita (Mullins) and the late John J. Pettit.
Gary loved to hunt and fish with his son, Asa, and they spent much time together, even if it was just driving around hoping to spot a deer or some turkeys roaming about. He loved the outdoors, and autumn was his favorite season. He loved his kids and always wanted what was best for them, even though they may not have realized it at the time. He was very proud of their accomplishments, big or small, and bragged about them often.
In years past, Gary built houses in Pennsylvania and was a talented carpenter. Gary moved to NH in 1993 to make a positive change in his life, and he did. For the last 12 years, he has been employed by Hitchiner Mfg. in Littleton, until his illness prevented him from working in early Dec of 2008.
Gary is survived by his long time companion, Kathy Young of Bethlehem, NH, two sons, Christopher Eby of Baltimore, MD and Asa Pettit of Bethlehem, NH, two daughters, Amanda Chesna and husband, John of Clarks Summit, PA and Amber Stebbins of Bethlehem, NH, his loving mother and step-father, Juanita and Ray Mell of Newville, PA; five brothers, John of NJ, Walter of CA, Delbert and Steve Pettit and Corey Mell, all of PA; three step-sisters, Star Whiskman, Debbie Yhoe and Cindy Piper, all of PA, three grandchildren, McKenna, Caitlin and David and one on the way. Also Gary leaves behind his three very best friends, Ron Wright of Loysville PA, Andy Douglass of Berlin, NH and Eric Moore of Dalton, NH, many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
