Gavel C. Topham

Manchester, NH

Gavel Charles Topham, 58, of Manchester, NH, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, October 7, 2022. He was born in Plymouth, NH on June 30, 1964, the son of Richard and Patricia Topham.

Gavel spent all his growing up years in Plymouth and is a graduate of Plymouth Area High School, class of 1982. As a youth he was active in scouting, DeMolay, and the Royal Eagles Drum and Drill Corp.  

 After graduation he attended Plymouth State University and was active in the college radio station as a DJ. He played guitar as a member of a local band called “Free Soil” that played in the central NH area for many years.

As a young adult, Gavel moved to Mammoth Lakes California where he lived and worked for many years. He truly enjoyed the mountain lifestyle during his years in Mammoth and the many lifelong friends he made there.

Soon after moving back to New Hampshire, Gavel connected with Lori Anderson, who became his soul mate and partner for over 12 years. They shared a love of music, the Patriots, and their cats Dusty and Tor.

Gavel developed a passion for music at an early age and his enthusiasm for making and listening to music lasted his entire life. When he wasn’t playing or listening to music, he enjoyed reading, watching movies and playing disc golf.

At the time of his passing, he was employed at Hannaford in Bedford, NH where he worked for the past 12 years.

Gavel is survived by his longtime partner, Lori Anderson, his father Richard, his sister Kim Mayhew and her husband Jack, his brother Christopher and his wife Christine, as well as several aunts, uncles, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his older brother, Mark and his mother, Patricia.

In keeping with Gavel’s wishes there will be no services. A celebration of life will be planned for a future date.
