Gayle W. Gilbert, 72, of Concord passed away Sunday, May 25, 2014 following a lengthy and courageous battle with cancer.
Gayle was born in Laconia, NH on September 15, 1941, the daughter of Hector F. and Dorothy G. (MacDonald) MacKay. She was raised in Laconia and graduated from Laconia High School, Class of 1959. She was a longtime resident of Gilford before moving to Concord approximately 15 years ago. Gayle deeply enjoyed her work at Hillcrest Farms, Laconia, NH; a job she held for years while raising her young family. Later on Gayle entered the commercial printing industry, holding positions with several companies and settling in sales and management with Wharf Industries Printing.
Gayle had a great love of music and enjoyed making things with her hands, lovingly crafting countless gifts for friends and family. She loved being outdoors, whether she was gardening, visiting the ocean or getting lost on the back roads of New Hampshire and Maine. She adored her sons and grandsons and cherished holiday gatherings with her family.
Gayle is survived by her sons, Jeffrey S. Gilbert and his wife, Arlene of Concord and Timothy R. Gilbert of Manchester; grandsons, Griffin M. and Ryan P. Gilbert; her sister, June Knapp of MI; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents, her sister, Carol Knapp and her brother, Stuart MacKay.
