George W. Glass

George W. Glass, 78, of 10 Palomino Lane, Bedford, NH died April 24, 2002, after a long battle with cancer. He was born in Vernon, Connecticut on May 11, 1923, the son of the late Gustave and Elfriede (Glessmann) Glass and had been a resident of Bedford for many years. He was a W.W. II Army Veteran, a member of the American Legion Post # 79, a parishioner of St. Elizabeth Seton Church and sang in the choir for that parish. Mr. Glass worked for St. Johnsbury Trucking Company for many years. He was a pianist volunteer for many years at the Carlyle Place in Bedford and a member of the Bedford Seniors. He had a long love and hate relationship with golf. Family members include his wife of 56 years, Clara (Colombaro) Glass of Bedford, a son David A. Glass of Manchester, two daughters, Mrs. George (Sharon) Abood of Manchester and Mrs. Thomas (Linda C.) Carroll of Vernon, Vermont, seven grandchildren, one great grandchildren, many nieces, nephews and cousins. SERVICES: Relatives and friends are welcomed to a Memorial Mass of Christian Burial Saturday morning at 10 o'clock in Sacred Heart Church. Urn burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery, Bedford, NH The Phaneuf Funeral Homes & Crematorium is in charge of arrangements.
