George ''Gene'' Perry, 72, of 343 Rimmon Street, died October 12, 2002 at his residence. He was born on February 26, 1930 in Cambridge, MA, the son of Virginio and Adelma (Ferreria) Perry. He resided in Massachusetts for many years and also in Florida before moving to Manchester in 28 years ago. He was Korean War Marine Corps Veteran and was an airplane mechanic during the war. He worked as a machinist throughout most of his career in MA, FL and NH. He was a parishioner of St. Patrick Church. He enjoyed watching the New England Patriots, fishing, country music and playing the harmonica. He was also played many sports earlier in his life and tried out for the Boston Red Sox farm team. He was the widower of Mary T. (Lee) Perry who died in June of 2002. Family members include six daughters, Mary Theresa Perry, Laura Arnold, Diane Perry, Jeannie Perry, Kristine Perry and Katharine Perry all of Manchester; one grandson, Matthew Arnold of Manchester, a sister, Mary Bowman of Merrimack; and many nephews, nieces and cousins. Calling hours will be at Phaneuf Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 250 Coolidge Avenue on Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday morning at 10:00 in St. Raphael Church. Burial will follow in Mt. Calvary Cemetery.
