Mr. George E. Roberts, 89, of Hooksett died Tuesday, August 1, 2006 at the Elliot Hospital in Manchester following a short illness. He was born in Lowell, Ma on October 16, 1916 the son of the late George and Yvonne (Henault) Roberts. He resided in NH since the age of 9. Attending the local high school, UNH and Lowell Technical Institute. Mr. Roberts was personnel director of Amoskeag Fabrics, later joined American Mutual Insurance Co. retired in 1984 as Vice President and NH Workmans Compensation Hearing Officer. He was former President of the NH Industrial Management Association, President of the NH Claim Managers Association and President of the Portland Maine Claim Managers Association. He was an active member of S.P.E.B.S.Q.S.A, sang in 5 championship quartets and during retirement he was music director of the Concord NH Chapter and Palm Harbor Florida Chapter. He was a communicant of St. Elizabeth Seton Church and a member of the Legion of Thousand Men. Survivors include his wife of 65 years, Hedwig (Wydra) Roberts of Hooksett; daughters, Beverley Cote of Hooksett and Fay Pryzbyla of Bedford; son, Kenneth Roberts of Scottsdale, AZ; five grandchildren, nine great grandchildren, brothers, Wilfred Brunette of Manchester, NH, Rene Brunette of Florida and Paul Brunette of Manchester, sister Dorothy Loughlin of Manchester and many nieces and nephews. Calling Hours are at the Phaneuf Funeral Home, 243 Hanover St, Manchester on Thursday from 2-4 and 6-8PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday at 11:00AM at St. Elizabeth Seton Church, Bedford. Burial will follow at Bedford Center Cemetery.
