George Sicsai Sr., 82, of Manchester died July 5, 2005 at Harborside Healthcare in Bedford following a brief illness. Mr. Sicsai was born on March 31, 1923 in Bucharest, Romania, the son of Teoharie and Maria (Barbulescu) Sicsai. He was educated in Bucharest as a child and then went on to serve his country in World War II. He was a pilot in the Romanian Air Force Special Forces and received a Victory Medal. Following his military service, George returned to Bucharest and continued his schooling. He received a dual Bachelors Degree in pharmacology and industrial engineering and received a PhD in toxicology. He worked as a pharmacist in Romania and retired to Manchester in 1989 with his family. George enjoyed reading, particularly about history and geography. He was a talented writer who wrote weekly columns for his home country newspaper. Family members include; his wife of 60 years, Elizabeta (Trailescu) Sicsai; one son, George Romeo Sicsai and his wife, Lia, of Merrimack ; one daughter, Izabela Sicsai of Manchester; a granddaughter, Monica Sicsai of Merrimack. There will be a Graveside Service on Thursday, July 7th at 11:00 AM in Mt. Calvary Cemetery.
