Georgette B. (Dionne) Chauvette, 83, of Manchester, died March 2, 2007 at the Community Hospice House in Merrimack. She was born in Manchester on May 20, 1923, the daughter of Hormidas and Aurore (Amelotte) Dionne and had been a lifelong resident of the city. She was predeceased by her husband, Emile Chauvette who died in 1991. She was a parishioner of the Parish of the Transfiguration. She had worked at Struthers-Dunn for ten years until her retirement. Prior to that, she has been employed by Arms Textiles. Family members include six sons, Rev. Roger Chauvette of Provincetown, MA, Laurier Chauvette of Daytona Beach, FL, Normand Chauvette of Goffstown, Gerald Chauvette of Manchester, David Chauvette of Homewood, AL and Jude Chauvette of Manchester; ten grandchildren and nine great grandchildren; two sisters, Marie Miville of Manchester and Doris Couture of Bedford and many nephews, nieces and cousins. In Her Life: While a parishioner of St. Edmond Church earlier in her life, she taught CCD, was on the Christian Foundation Committee, was a Eucharistic Minister and was involved in the Cursillo movement. She also volunteered in the Catholic School System while her children attended. She will be remembered as a great listener, advisor and friend to all. She would not let anyone be by themselves. At her request, she wanted everyone to wear bright colors at her wake and funeral. Calling hours will be at Phaneuf Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 250 Coolidge Avenue on Monday from 4 to 8 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday morning at 10:00 in the Parish of the Transfiguration. Burial will follow in Mt. Calvary Cemetery.
