Georgette Irene (Pelletier) Thomas of Manchester, NH, 98, died on November 2, 2022 at Mt. Carmel Rehabilitation & Nursing Center.  She was born on September 30, 1924, in Manchester to Eugene and Germaine (Grandmaison) Pelletier.

Georgette is survived by two sons, William E. Thomas and his wife Wendy and Dr. Kenneth D. Thomas and his wife Colette; one daughter, Sandra (Thomas) Avlas and her husband John; her sister, Pauline Bocash; eight grandchildren, including: Kristen Thomas and her husband Joe Foley, Jennifer Thomas, Katherine (Thomas) Piccione and her husband Chris, Brian Thomas and his wife Liana, Greg Thomas and his wife Danielle, Amanda Thomas, Melanie (Avlas) Glines and her husband Mike, and Christina (Avlas) Horan and her husband Patrick; as well as nineteen great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband, William D. Thomas; her parents, Eugene and Germaine (Grandmaison) Pelletier; her sisters, Estelle Sayre and Lucille Chauvette; and her brothers, Maurice and Robert Pelletier.

After marrying her husband in Presque Isle, Maine in 1942, she supported his Army career by making homes for the family at several bases, including six years in Germany.

Georgette was known as a hard worker who loved to cook and bake, and after her husband died in 1975, she travelled with friends to Hawaii, San Francisco, Las Vegas, and to Florida frequently.  She enjoyed watching politics on CNN and TV game shows such as “The Price is Right,” eating out at the Puritan Backroom, and doing large jigsaw puzzles.  She loved reading novels and read every book by Dan Brown and mysteries by Patricia Cornwell.

“Georgie” as she was affectionally known by her friends and caregivers at Mt. Carmel, was an ardent fan of the New England Patriots! While residing at Mt. Carmel, she loved playing Bingo and won her share of prizes. She enjoyed the many talented musicians who visited Mt. Carmel.

Georgette will be missed by those who knew her and loved her as she was generous and caring to people both within her family and outside the family.  The Thomas family wishes to especially thank the hard-working staff and administration at Mt. Carmel for the wonderful care and compassion shown to Georgie during her final years there.

Services will be held privately. She will be laid to rest at Mount Calvary Cemetery in Manchester.
