Gerald (Jerry) Foster, age 87, died on Saturday, March 21, 2009 at his residence in Pembroke, NH after a lengthy illness. He was born on May 17, 1921 in Taunton, MA, the son of the late Clarence and Edith (Pease) Foster. He was educated at the Pembroke Academy. Mr. Foster enlisted in the US Army in 1941 attended Basic Training at Ft. Eustas, VA and went on to Camp Davis in North Carolina. He was assigned to the C Battery 217th Gun Battery. He served in the European Theatre of Operations and the Battle of the Bulge. He also served as a Tech Sgt. in the Gun Battery A, 744 New Hamsphire Army National Guard. Mr. Foster owned and operated the Tanglewood Acres Mobile Home Park for over 45 years. He was also employed at the Concord Lumber Company for many years. He is survived by his daughter and caregiver Ann (Foster) Lord and her husband Stephen; his son George Foster and his wife Peg; grandchildren: Karie Foster Lord, Nicole Lord, Andrea Foster, Doug Messier and Wendy Foster; he also leaves a great grandson: Christopher Kevin Lord. He was also survived by his former wife Thelma Fish and extended family Natalie Bly and Judi Davis. Mr. Foster was predeceased by a son Kevin Foster and a daughter Susan Foster. A private burial will take place at a later date.
