Gerald L. Gerry Lafleur, 77, of Manchester, died at 36 Golden Gate Drive in Hooksett at the home of his daughter and son-in-law, Susan and Grant Benson, on March 30, 2007. He was born in Manchester on May 18, 1929, the son of Wilfred and Azilda (Provencher) Lafleur and had been a lifelong resident of the city. He graduated from St Jean the Baptist School and attended West High School. He also attended New Hampshire College where he took courses in real estate. He was a United States Army Veteran of the Korean War. He worked at Prevue Products for many years until his retirement. After retirement, he had worked part-time for Mt. Calvary Cemetery. He was a former State House Representative. He was a member and past commander of the Catholic War Veterans, Post 1749. He belonged to the League of 1000 Men of Precious Blood Monastery, the League of Sacred Heart and was active with the St. Vincent de Paul Society. A long-time parishioner of Ste. Marie Church, and was an alter server. He volunteered at the VA Hospital assisting with Bingo games and was a regular blood donor with the American Red Cross. He was predeceased by his wife, Lillian A. (Ducharme) Lafleur who died in 1995. In His Life: Family members include four daughters, Diane Cheney of Goffstown, Susan Benson of Hooksett, Janet Lafleur of Goffstown and Lisa DeLoid of Amherst; six grandchildren, Keith Belcourt, Kevin Cheney, Candace Carrera, Alycia Belcourt, Amber DeLoid and Victoria Benson; one great granddaughter, Alexys Cheney; a sister, Rita Vaillancourt of Manchester; three brothers, Roger Lafleur of FL, Leo Lafleur of Tilton and Donald Lafleur of Hooksett; and many nephews, nieces and cousins. Gerry was predeceased by a granddaughter, Jennifer Cheney. He also leaves his special friend and companion, Claire Provencher and her family who were all important to him. Calling hours will be at Phaneuf Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 250 Coolidge Avenue on Tuesday from 4 to 8 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday morning at 11:00 in Ste. Marie Church. Committal services and internment will follow in Mt. Calvary cemetery mausoleum.
