Gerald D. Roy

Gerald Donald Roy passed away peacefully on July 25, 2026, at his residence in Whitefield, NH surrounded by loved ones. Born on April 21, 1949, to parents, Donald and Lorraine Roy. He was the husband of Vivian Fitzpatrick for 25 years. Vivian predeceased him in 2022 and they are now reunited.

Growing up in Berlin, NH, he attended Gorham and Berlin schools, graduating Berlin High School in 1968. That same year he enrolled in the US Navy- serving the country as an aircraft maintenance mechanic who inspected and repaired aircrafts.

Gerald had a love for his family. He was known for selling tickets for bingo at the American Legion and found joy in simple things like mowing his lawn. He was dedicated to his community and church, taking care of Community Baptist Church building and cemetery grounds. Gerald was also a member of various VFWs in the area.

He is survived by his children, Charlene Briggs (Rick), Marcel, Erika Bailey (Brian), Don (Betty Jo); his stepchildren, Michael and his wife, Meryl and Steven and his wife, Janet; 6 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. He is also survived by his best friend, Justin Schroeder.

A celebration of life will be held beginning at 11AM on Saturday, August 29 at the Community Baptist Church in Whitefield, NH. The family encourages attendees to wear Red Socks memorabilia in honor of Gerald’s favorite baseball team. His burial is to be held later at the convenience of family.
