Geraldine D. Dean, 91, passed away peacefully on October 1, 2022 at The Birches in Concord following a lengthy struggle with dementia.
She was a graduate of Hopkinton High School and Concord Business School. She lived a full life as a mother, homemaker, bookkeeper, and customer service representative retiring from Blue Cross Blue Shield.
Geri was the beloved wife of the late David A. Dean. Proud mother of Leonie D. (William) Gagnon, Richard Fortune, Susan Dean (Douglas) Jones and Theodore Dean. Grandmother to Teresa Fortune- Woodward, David Fortune, Jennifer Jones, Jason Jones, Leah Fortune and Blain Fortune. She had eleven great grandchildren and one great great grandchild and several nieces and nephews.
Geri is also survived by her sister Virginia Kelley, and brother Erwin Smith. She is predeceased by her parents Leroy and Eugenia Smith, sister Lorraine Smith, brothers Robert Smith, Orris Smith, Dean Smith.
Geri loved to bake pies and muffins, kept an immaculate house, was highly skilled with knitting needles and crochet hooks. She and her late husband David were avid motorcyclists. Together they taught motorcycle safety classes as road reps for American Motorcycle Association, where she was known as “motorcycle momma”. For several years they visited friends in Nova Scotia by motorcycle. In addition to traveling within the United States she visited several countries in Asia, Europe, New Zealand and Australia.
Faith was very important to Geri she was a member of Christ the King Church and served as an Eucharistic Minister Concord, NH.
