Gerard T. Carroll, Jr., 70, of Epsom, passed away Friday, March 24, 2017 following a period of declining health.
Gerry was born in Boston on November 22, 1946 to Gerard and Margaret (Flynn) Carroll. He earned an associate's degree from UMass Amherst and enlisted in the US Army in 1966, serving one tour of duty in Vietnam. Gerry was a sales manager with Doall. He was a member of the American Legion, helping with fundraiser dances, skating parties, minstrel shows, and participating in Memorial Day parades. He was involved in Scouting, serving as Cubmaster and assisting at campouts, Pinewood Derbies, etc. He helped gather food for Thanksgiving baskets and delivered them to the needy. He loved fishing and traveled with family and friends, including visits to his grandparents' homeland, Ireland. He placed a great value on family, especially his grandchildren.
Gerry is survived by his wife, Louise (Madore) Carroll and their two sons, Michael Carroll and wife, Dana, and Mark Carroll; grandchildren Meridith, Tyler, Anna, Rachael and Ryan; and sisters, Arlene, Patricia, Linda (predeceased) and Susan, All of Massachusetts.
Family and friends are invited to gather Wednesday, March 29th 10:00-11:30 at Phaneuf Funeral Homes & Crematorium, 172 King Street in Boscawen. A memorial service will follow in the funeral home chapel. Gerry will be inurned with military honors during a graveside committal service at 1:00pm at the New Hampshire State Veterans Cemetery, 110 Daniel Webster Highway in Boscawen.
