Gerard R. Hudon, Sr., 66, died Tuesday, October 28, 2008 at Hillsborough County Nursing Home, after a short illness with cancer.

Mr. Hudon was born on April 20, 1942, in Manchester, NH, the son of Amedee and Laurette (Pepin) Hudon. He was a resident of Weare, NH for the past 9 years. Prior to this he lived in Goffstown for 25 years.

Before his retirement, Mr. Hudon was employed for 10 years at Moore Business Forms where he was a press operator. Most of his life he worked as a self-employed carpenter.

He was an avid outdoorsman, and enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping and gardening. Mr. Hudon had a great sense of humor and often enjoyed telling stories.

Members of his family, in addition to his mother, include; his wife of 47 years, Cora (Hartford) Hudon, of Weare, NH; 2 sons, Gerard R. Hudon, Jr., of Goffstown; Tony Hudon, of Weare, NH; 3 daughters, Tammie Richard, of Weare, NH; Tina Gobin, of Pembroke, Tonya Dubois, of Goffstown, 11 grandchildren; 2 sisters, Jeannette Maihot, of Hudson, FL; Annette Bowers, of W. Virginia; several nieces and nephews.

IN HIS LIFE: He was predeceased by his granddaughter, Courtney Gobin and by his brother, Robert Hudon.

SERVICES: A memorial gathering will be Saturday, November 1, from 6:00 – 7:00 PM at The Phaneuf Funeral Home, 243 Hanover Street, corner of Union Street, in Manchester. A memorial service will follow in the funeral home chapel at 7:00 PM.

It has been suggested that those who wish may make memorial gifts to Hillsborough County Nursing Home, c/o CRU Unit, 400 Mast Road, Goffstown, NH 03045, in memory of Mr. Hudon.

Arrangements are under the direction of The Phaneuf Funeral Homes and Crematorium, in Manchester.
