Germaine K. Kyana

Germaine K. Kyana, 80, of Manchester NH, passed away on August 17th, 2021. She was born on February 12th, 1941 to the late Paluku Kyana & Veronique Kabuo, and would go on to marry the late Alexis Halkose.

Germaine was born and raised in the Democratic Republic of Congo. She leaves behind a large and loving family there, and will always have deep ties to her native country and heritage. She later moved to New Hampshire in 2004 where she lived out the rest of her life.

Those who knew Germaine will remember a very strong, patient, compassionate, gentle, generous, kind and loyal mother to everyone she met. She was a force to be reckoned with.

Germaine was a natural caretaker and was a mother to her children, her grandchildren, her great-grandchildren and to anyone in need. Family was everything to her, and she was always happiest when surrounded by her large network of family and friends. Memories of her famous rice and beans enjoyed by all will not be soon forgotten. Germaine will undoubtedly be waiting for her family in heaven with a smile on her face, and she will be sorely missed by all whose lives she touched.

Germaine has joined her husband Alexis and her son Kambale Halkose in heaven. She leaves behind a large family who loved her dearly.

Calling hours for Germaine will be held on Friday, August 20th from 4:00 PM – 8:00 PM at Phaneuf Funeral Homes – 250 Coolidge Ave. Manchester NH, 03102. A funeral mass will be held on Saturday, August 21 at 10:00 AM at Ste. Marie Parish in Manchester, NH. She will be laid to rest immediately afterwards at the Pine Grove Cemetery.

All guests are requested to wear a mask while in attendance of the services.
