Germaine Lucia Vachon, 80, of Manchester, passed away on Monday, January 21, 2019 at Elliot Hospital, Manchester, surrounded by her loving family.
Born in Manchester on October 11, 1938, she was the daughter of the late Emile and Hectorine (Paul) Lemire. Germaine was raised and educated in Manchester, where she was a lifelong resident. She worked for many years at J.F. McElwain as a shoe stitcher.
Germaine was a lively and spirited woman with a vivacious sense of humor. She shared 58 years of marriage with her late husband, Leo, with whom she raised three children. She was a mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend who will be missed by all.
Germaine leaves behind her two sons, David Vachon and wife Doris of Candia, and Paul Vachon and wife Deborah of Boscawen; her daughter, Cathy Chaput and husband Donald of Goffstown; her granddaughter, Jennifer Macarelli of Goffstown; her brother, Paul Lemire and wife Terry of Manchester; and her sister-in-law, Claudette Lemire of Manchester; three great granddaughters, Brianna, Hannah, and Harlo; as well as many in-laws, nephews, nieces, extended family members and friends. In addition to her parents, Germaine was predeceased by her husband, Leo Vachon, her grandson, Jeffrey Chaput, and two siblings, Lucien and George Lemire.
ARRANGEMENTS: A memorial gathering will be held at Phaneuf Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 243 Hanover Street, Manchester, on Friday, January 25th from 3-4pm with a memorial service at 4pm. Family and friends are invited to attend.
