Gertrude Trudy Remillard

Gertrude "Trudy" I. (Lessard) Remillard, 93, of Manchester, passed away peacefully on Sunday, May 27, 2018, surrounded by her loving family.

Born in Nashua, NH, she is the daughter of the late Edward and Irene (LaFlamme) Lessard. She was affectionately known as Trudy by family and friends. Raised in a French and English home, Trudy was proud of her French heritage and was bilingual. She received her lower and intermediate education in Manchester and was a graduate of Portsmouth High School. Trudy married the love of her life, the late Andrew Remillard in 1951. The young couple raised their beautiful family in Manchester's Westside, East Hartford, CT and Manchester, CT before returning to Manchester, NH to be closer to family. Once her children were grown, Trudy worked in medical records at Catholic Medical Center. Coworkers and patients were drawn to her warm and friendly demeanor.

A dedicated wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and friend to all, Trudy's family was paramount in her life. She enjoyed walking in the sunshine at York Beach in Maine with her family. Trudy was humble and generous with her time and talents. She often welcomed strangers into her home to offer a helping hand during a time of need. A strong and courageous woman, Trudy was able to overcome struggles in life through her Christian Faith. She was deeply loved and appreciated by her church family. During retirement, Trudy learned Spanish in order to volunteer as a missionary, serving several times in Venezuela. In her spare time, she collected watches to give to children in Venezuela. More recently, Trudy assisted in Bible study and Christian services to nursing home residents. During her time at Hanover Hill, she loved to hug the nurses, staff, and residents to show her gratitude for their friendship and steadfast care. Trudy will be best remembered for her generous heart, love of family and church family, and her great Faith.

Trudy is survived by her two daughters, Donna Remillard of Laconia, and Sandra "Sandee" Paredes and husband Jaime of Derry; son, Dean Remillard of Derry; grandson, Keith Remillard and wife Jennifer; three grandchildren, Jaila, Caden, and Tyler; sister, Jacqueline "Jackie" Richotte; a dear friend who she loved like a granddaughter, Alesha Forbes; several nieces, nephews, and extended family and friends. In addition to her parents, Trudy was predeceased by her husband, Andrew Remillard in 1981, and sister, Claire Picard.

ARRANGEMENTS: Her Memorial Service will be held in Shiloh Church, 55 Edmond St, Manchester, on Saturday, June 2 at 2:00P.M. followed by a Life Celebration Luncheon at the church. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made in Trudy's memory to the Hanover Hill Health Care Center, Activity Fund, in memory of Gertrude Remillard, 700 Hanover St., Manchester, NH 03102.
