Gilbert R. Lessard, 57, of 280 Old Candia Road, Auburn, died at his home January 16, 2004, after a brief illness. He was born in Lewiston, Maine on September 14, 1946, the son of Ernest F. Lessard and the late Madeline (Gilbert) Lessard and resided in Manchester before moving to Auburn in 1976. Gilbert was a U.S. Navy Veteran and a parishioner of St. Peter Church, Auburn. He was a supervisor for Verizon for many years. Mr. Lessard was a devoted husband, father and brother. Family members include his wife of 38 years, Nancy (Kruger) Lessard of Auburn, a son James E. Lessard, of Manchester, his father of Lewiston, Maine, two brothers; Ernest R. Lessard of Clearwater, Florida and Steven E. Lessard of Palm Harbor, Florida, a sister Rachel A. Wright of Largo, Florida, two nephews, three nieces and several cousins. SERVICES: Relatives and friends are welcomed to a memorial reception for Mr. Lessard at the Phaneuf Funeral Homes & Crematorium, 243 Hanover Street, Wednesday evening from 7 to 9 O'Clock. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday morning at 10 O'Clock in St. Peter Church, Auburn, NH. Donation may be made to the American Cancer Society, 360 Route 101, Unit 501, Bedford, NH 03110.
