Gilbert A. Pratte, 74, of 459 Kelley Street, died November 25, 2001, at residence after a lengthy battle with cancer. He was born in Manchester, NH on December 23, 1926, the son of Alfred and Marie Laura (Lacombe) Pratte and had been a lifelong resident of the Queen City. He attended West High School, was a W.W. II Navy Veteran serving during the Korean conflict, was a member of the American Legion Sweeney Post, retired as a letter carrier for the US Post Office after 31 years of service and was currently employed as a part-timer for Avis Rent-a-Car. Mr. Pratte was the widower of Ruth M. (Sinclair) Pratte of 38 years who died in 1991 and also predeceased by his brother A. Emund Pratte. Family members include a son Stephen Pratte of Manchester, two daughters, Mrs. Stephen (Susan) Mahoney of Auburn and Pamela Pratte of Hooksett, a granddaughter Ashley Mahoney of Auburn, a sister, Dorothy Campbell of Manchester, one aunt, several nieces, nephews and cousins. SERVICES: Calling hours are at the Phaneuf Funeral Homes & Crematorium, 250 Coolidge Avenue, Tuesday from 5 to 8 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday morning at 10 o'clock in Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church. Burial will be in Mount Calvary Cemetery.
