MANCHESTER - Gilles J. Gravel, 66, died on Thursday, Dec. 20, 2012, at his residence in Manchester.
Mr. Gravel was born on May 10, 1946, in Weedon, Quebec, Canada, the son of the late Philippe and Germaine (Modard) Gravel.
He was the owner and operator of Manchester Maintenance Company and worked as a self-employed painter.
Mr. Gravel was an avid pool player and loved spending time at his home with his wife and family. He also enjoyed snowmobiling, four-wheeling and motorcycling.
Mr. Gravel was always smiling and had a good sense of humor. His true zest for life was infectious for all those who knew him.
Members of his family include his wife, Dee Gravel, of Manchester; siblings, Hugeutte Gravel Keeler, Sr. Pauline Gravel, Lorainne Gravel, Sr. Solange Gravel, Louisette Gravel Caron, Johanne Gravel Evoy, Jean Guy Gravel, and Reynald Gravel, all of Canada; and son, Stephan Gravel of South Daytona Beach, Fla. Also, Gilles' new extended family includes Greg and Krista Scarlett of Dunbarton, Ronald and Kellie Vachon of New Boston, Vlasios and Kimberly Kalantzis of Sarasota, Fla., Keith and Stacy Rocca of Manchester, and eight grandchildren.
SERVICES: There are no calling hours. A memorial Mass will be held on Saturday, Dec. 22, 2012, at 10 a.m. at Ste. Marie Church, 378 Notre Dame Avenue, in Manchester.
