GLENN STILLINGS

LITTLETON, NH -- Glenn Stillings, 79, passed away unexpectedly on November 4, 2015.

He was born in Jefferson, NH on November 29th, 1935, the son of the late Clyde and Mary Stillings. His Aunt Leola and Uncle Bill Nolan of Whitefield, NH raised him. He attended Whitefield High School and graduated from the University of Iowa. He also served in the U.S. Navy.

Glenn and his beloved wife Marilyn (Corey), of 51 years, lived in Littleton where they raised their two daughters Tina and Tonya. During this time, Glenn was a physical education teacher, track and championship basketball coach, driver education teacher, and principal at Lisbon Regional School. He also served as assistant superintendent of schools, SAU 35. A few of his achievements include teacher of the year, NH basketball coach of the year, and NH Excellence in Education Award. He earned the respect from anyone who was fortunate enough to know him. He was a mentor, friend, and confidant to so many; a gentle soul.

Over the course of his retirement years, Glenn was involved with the NHIAA, served on the bank board of directors, and continued his love of education in driver Ed until his last days here with us. Many a student will remember looking for deer while out driving, or even stopping so that "Mr. Stillings" could pick up a golf ball he saw on the side of the road.

Glenn loved the outdoors. He was an avid golfer, hunter and fisherman. He enjoyed spending days on the river. But his greatest love was his family. It could be as simple as a family dinner or hanging out on the porch. He relished having his grandchildren sitting on his lap, watching them play sports and dance in recitals, shooting hoop or playing miniature golf. It really did not matter what he did, as long as it was with his family. He lived to provide and take care of them. They all will dearly miss him.

He is survived by his wife Marilyn, two daughters, Tina Stillings Nelson and her husband Errold, of Spofford, NH, Tonya Stillings-Smith and her husband Michael, of Newton, PA; two grandsons, Nicholas, 23 and Nathan, 21; four granddaughters, Ashley, 11, Kayla, 8, and twins Lauren and Victoria, 5. He also leaves behind his brother John (Jack) and his wife Karen, sister, Joyce and her husband Jerry. He was predeceased by his sister Sandra; numerous cousins and beloved friends.
