Mrs. Gloria M. Keane, 84, of Manchester died January 21, 2008 at the Elliot Hospital in Manchester following complications of a massive stroke. She was born on March 3, 1923 in Manchester, NH the daughter of Henry C. Smith Sr. and Ora M. (Doucette) Smith. She was raised and educated in Manchester. She was a lifelong resident of Manchester. She was very active in the Youngsville Community. She was a member of the Lake Shore Group, also known as the “Out-to-Lunch Bunch”. After raising her children, she had worked as a teller at the Manchester Bank. She was a creative person who enjoyed sewing, upholstery, caning and rug making. She was also internet savvy and enjoyed playing on-line games. She was, most especially, an avid Red Sox Fan. Surviving family members include her two sons, John F. Keane Jr. of Somers, NY and Michael H. Keane of Nashua; two daughters, Sandra Keane of Blackwood, NJ and Pamela Lefebvre of Candia; 7 grandchildren, Valerie Keane, Vincent Keane, Jaime Taylor, Jeremy Kelley, Ryan Lefebvre, Christy Lefebvre and Erin Keane, 5 great grandchildren, Ashley Taylor, Kelsey Taylor, Corey Taylor, Owen Taylor and Skylar Heverin-Kelley; a sister, Theresa Cote of Manchester and several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her husband John F. Keane and hertwo brothers, Henry C. Smith Jr. and Gerald Smith. Her Calling Hours are at the Phaneuf Funeral Home, 243 Hanover St, Manchester, on Thursday from 7-9PM. Her Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday at 10:00 AM at St. Peter Church, Auburn. Burial will be at the NH State Veterans Cemetery at noon.
