Gloria D. Turner

Gloria D. Turner, 79, of Brattleboro, VT passed away on Tuesday, October 6, 2015 at her home in Brattleboro with her daughters by her side. She was born in Keene, NH on April 17, 1936, the daughter of the late Sherman and Rachel (Pratt) Dompier.

Gloria was educated in the Brattleboro school system, graduating from Brattleboro High School, Class of 1954. She was employed as a clerk for the Holstein Association for 53 ½ years until her retirement. Gloria was a very energetic person. She loved spending time with her friends, and participating in many activities. She enjoyed, bike riding, bowling, traveling, especially on bus trips, attending her grandchildren's sporting events, skiing, skating, going to the movies, and doing jigsaw puzzles. Gloria had a special place in her heart and adored her cat, Gracie. She was a member of the Wednesday night bowling league and the Senior League on Thursdays at Brattleboro Bowl.

She is predeceased by her husband, Walter M. Turner, Jr. in 1996.

She is survived by four daughters, Eileen Atherton and her husband Kimball of Hinsdale, Ann Tripp and her husband Mike of Vernon, Mary Dessaint and her husband Shane of Hinsdale, and June Courtemanche and her husband Michael also of Vernon; a brother, Robert Dompier of Bellows Falls; a sister Jeanette Bookhammer of CO; five grandsons, Aaron, Derek, Jake, Connor, Steven, and Dylan; three great granddaughters, Annabelle, Madelyn and Morgan; as well as several nieces, nephews and close friends from Holstein.

A Graveside Service will be held on Saturday, October 10, 2015 at 3:00 PM at Meetinghouse Hill Cemetery in Brattleboro, VT. The KER-WESTERLUND FUNERAL HOME, 57 High St., Brattleboro, VT has been entrusted with arrangements.
