Hadson Sereti Ayusa, a devoted husband, father, grandfather and educator, passed away peacefully at home on July 31, 2025, with his loving family by his side. He was born on October 17, 1953, in Kisii, Kenya.
Throughout his career, Hadson made amazing friends and colleagues, and his influence extended well beyond the classroom. He cherished the value of education, having pursued higher learning and instilling the same importance in others. Beyond teaching, Hadson also possessed a sharp mind for retail business and farming, showcasing his diverse talents.
A devout Christian and lifelong member of the 7th Day Adventist Church, Hadson found profound guidance and strength in his faith. Family meant everything to him, and he was particularly proud of his four children: Eric Sereti and his wife Divinah, Danvas Sereti and his wife Judy, Benjamin Sereti and his wife Siba, and Olipha Sereti. His love for his children was matched only by his affection for his nine grandchildren: Zoe, Zandrea, Briana, Brielle, Britney, Victoria, Jayden, Elizabeth, and Sarah. Hadson was always at his happiest when surrounded by the people he loved most.
In 1976, Hadson married his beloved wife, Tabitha Sereti. Their bond lasted nearly five decades, characterized by friendship and partnership that remained strong until the very end. Hadson enjoyed walks around the neighborhood and traveled to experience the beauty of the New England seasons. He often looked for any excuse to gather his family together, creating lasting memories and strengthening the ties that united them.
He is predeceased by his sister Elizabeth Moraa Moitui. He is survived by his wife, Tabitha Sereti; his children, Eric, Danvas, Benjamin, and Olipha; his brothers, Peterson Okioma and David Onwonga; his sister Helen Mageto; and his grandchildren.
