Harleigh Z. Matthews, 34, of Chester died April 19, 2012.
He was born in Southfield, Michigan on June 10, 1977 the son of Wendy (Brown) Matthews. He moved to New Hampshire in 1984 and lived in Merrimack and Chester. Harleigh graduated from Merrimack High School.
He was an avid reader and loved animals. He enjoyed politics and philosophy.
Survivors include his mother, Wendy Matthews of Chester; sister, Jessica Matthews of Chester, his grandmother, Mary Jean Matthews of Michigan and his niece, Alivia Varney.
His memorial gathering will be held at the Phaneuf Funeral Home, 243 Hanover St, Manchester on Sunday from 1:00 to 2:00PM with his memorial service to follow in the funeral home at 2:00PM. Donation in Harleigh's name can be made to NAMI or National Bipolar Foundation. Harleigh's family would ask everyone to contact their congressperson and urge them to advocate for family's rights for people who's loved one suffer from mental illness.
