Harold Everett Carpenter – Bedford, NH Of Bedford, formerly of Oakridge, TN and Bridgeton, NJ died Friday December 16th at Laurel center in Bedford. He was born on March 12, 1924 in Booneville, MI the Son of James and Idella (Ross) Carpenter. Harold grew up in MS, AL, Ark, LA and came to Oak ridge, TN to work at Y-12 in 1944. He was a graduate of the University of Tennessee and later worked at Seabrook Farms in Seabrook, NJ as an agricultural engineer. Harold was employed for 20 years by Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey as an extension specialist in mechanized agriculture at the Rutgers research center in Centerton, NJ. At the time of his retirement, he was appointed to the position of Professor Emeritus. He had co-authored a publication on drip irrigation. He was a member of the Oliver Springs United Methodist Church in Oliver Springs, TN. He had been an active member of the NJ Coast Guard Auxiliary. He was a board member of the Upper Deerfield Township Board of Education in Seabrook, NJ. He was also a member of the American Society of Agricultural Engineers, and the N.A.R.F.E. Most dear to him had always been his family. Though he will be sadly missed, he will always be remembered as a friend to all who knew him. He is survived by his wife of 41 years, Joan (Eckert) Carpenter of Londonderry, NH. Three Daughters; Andrea L. Carpenter of Clinton, TN, Elizabeth M. Chaulk and her husband Brian of Manchester, NH and Jennifer A. Barlow and her husband Elijah of Knoxville, TN. Sister Gladys M. Carpenter of Oliver Springs, TN. Several nieces and nephews also survive him. In His Life: Harold is also survived by his Grandson, Brendan Riley Chaulk of Manchester, NH. There are no calling hours.
