Harold "Pop" Carter, Sr., 66, of 56 Jefferson Street, Manchester, NH died December 4, 2003 at the Merrimack Hospice House, Merrimack, NH. He was born on September 4, 1937, in GlensFalls, New York, the son of Alice (Harrington) Carter and the late William H. Carter and lived most of his life in Manchester before moving to Florida for eight years . He returned to Manchester a few months ago. Mr. Carter loved country music and was an avid fisherman. Family members include his wife of 45 years, Patricia (Alden) Carter, two sons, Jesse Carter and Michael Carter, all of Manchester, his predeceased son Harold Carter who died in 1990, his mother of Lake Como, Florida, nine grandchildren, one great granddaughter, four brothers Howard Carter of Hollywood, Florida, Billy Carter of Rochester, New York, Al Carter of Crescent City, Florida and Barry "BJ" Carter of Lake Como, Florida, a sister, Brenda Clark of Lake Como, Florida, many nieces, nephews and cousins. IN HIS LIFE: He loved his grandchidren, Harold Carter, III, Melisa Carter, Jesse Carter, Yvonne Carter, Kristy Carter, Ashley Carter, Sarah Carter, Sam Gleason and Eric Castiglioni, and his great granddaughter Kaitlin Carter. Pop was a very loving man towards his family and friends and all woman were called sweetheart. SERVICES: Calling hours will be at the Phaneuf Funeral Homes & Crematorium, 243 Hanover Street, Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM. The funeral service will be at the funeral home on Saturday morning at 10 o'clock. Burial will follow in Mount Calvary Cemetery.
