Harold J. Powers

Harold Powers, 81, of 27 Linlew Drive, Derry, died August 15, 2001, at the Veteran Medical Center, after a short illness. He was born in Charlestown, Ma., on December 1, 1919, the son of Patrick and Hilda (Merling) Powers and had been a resident of Billerica, Ma. for most of his life. He moved to Derry, NH in 1983. Mr. Powers was a Navy Veteran serving in W.W. II and also the Korean Conflict. He loved his children and grandchildren. Mr. Powers was a past member of the Elks in Billerica, Ma., and was a machinist for P.F. Avery in Billerica, Ma. Family members include two daughters, Donna Marie Belville of Derry, NH and Kathy Campbell of Billerica, Ma., six grandchildren, two great grandchildren, a sister Lillian Candeas of Billerica, Ma., several nieces, nephews and cousins. SERVICES: There will be no calling hours. Relatives and friends are welcomed to attend a committal service for Mr. Powers on Friday afternoon at 2 o'clock in Fox Hill Cemetery, Andover Road, Billerica, Ma. The Phaneuf Funeral Homes & Crematorium, 243 Hanover Street, is in charge of arrangements.
