Harry Bingham Clark

January 19, 1952 — December 7, 2023

Bethlehem, NH

Harry Bingham Clark, “Bing,” age 71, of Bethlehem, NH, passed away peacefully with his loving family by his side on December 7, 2023.

Bing was born in Littleton, NH, on January, 19, 1952, to the late Kenneth and Frances (Conway) Clark. He married the love of his life, Candy, on December 31, 1973. He remained a lifelong resident of Bethlehem, NH, where he pursued a career of selfless service in support of a community he loved.

Bing served more than 20 years in the NH State Police (Troop F) and almost 10 years on the Bethlehem Police Department. He owned three local businesses–Chucky’s Country Store, Nautilus Health & Fitness Center, and Pennock Sales and Service–and worked for the Friendship House, helping countless people overcome lifelong addictions. His calling in life was simple: to help others in need. That’s why he also worked with many organizations including the Bethlehem Fire & Rescue Department and the Ski Patrol for Mittersill. In his youth, he was recognized for helping the injured in The Cog Railway tragedy of 1967 and received the Medal of Courage Award from the Governor in 1969 for his heroism with rescuing a man from drowning at Upper Falls.

We will remember Bing as a wonderful man who cherished his family and his friends and knew how to have fun. A devoted husband, he spent the last seven years taking care of his wife, Candy, who suffers from Dementia. Not a day went by that he didn’t visit her, call, or simply send a healing prayer her way. He could often be found baking and cooking for those he loved. Anyone who knew him felt instantly better just by being in his presence. He had the most engaging stories, funniest jokes, and a zest for life. For him, the glass was always half-full.

An avid outdoorsman and lover of nature, Bing enjoyed hunting, fishing, skiing, bird-watching, or simply admiring the mountains, country roads, and scenic routes of the White Mountains from his car.

With his passing, Bing leaves a legacy of kindness, respect, honor and service that will forever remain in our hearts and within our community. His greatest joy in life was being surrounded by his family. He was the best husband, father, “Grandpa”, brother and uncle. He embodied the definition of what it means to be a good man, neighbor and friend.

Bing is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Candace (Camann) Clark; his son Ian Clark and daughter-in-law Julie Clark of Gorham, ME; his son David Clark and daughter-in-law Kyla Miller of Bethlehem, NH; and his daughter, Sarah (Clark) Girouard and son-in-law Eric Girouard of North Reading, MA; his brother Kevin Clark and sister-in-law Anne Clark of Littleton, NH; his sister Terri (Clark) Plante and brother-in-law Philip Plante of Hampstead, NH; his brother Robert Clark and sister-in-law Yvonne Clark of Monroe, NH; and his seven grandchildren: Isabella Miller-White; Iris Miller-White; Satchel Miller-White; Alina Clark; Harper Clark; Maverick Girouard and Jagger Girouard; and countless nieces and nephews who loved him dearly.

A Celebration of Life for the man who positively impacted us all will be held on January 13, 2024, at the Maplewood Golf Resort in Bethlehem, NH, from 1-4PM.
